Max Dean is a London producer, DJ and label owner who has spent the last few years turning a family obsession with house music into one of the most watched operations in the UK scene.

Born and raised in East London, he started making music at 13 after a neighbour who ran a label heard him messing about on instruments and handed him a copy of FL Studio. "He just said, give me your laptop," Dean recalls. A family holiday to Ibiza at 16 sealed it. Standing at Bora Bora, he decided, in his own words, "I don't care what my exam results are, I want to be a DJ." By 17 he was working London's grassroots circuit with regular slots at 93 Feet East on Brick Lane.

The sound is house at the core, cut with the hip hop and rap he grew up on. Early records landed on Hottrax, Eastenderz and Positiva before things went up a gear. "Can't Decide," made with cousin Luke Dean and Locky, hit No. 16 on the UK Singles Chart in 2025 and took Best Track at the DJ Mag Best of British Awards. "Gets Like That" followed as the summer record and picked up a Jamie Jones remix, and he has since worked with Timbaland and reworked Azari & III for Positiva.

Away from the decks he runs neXup, now Beatport's top ranked minimal and deep tech imprint, alongside its events brand and community platform, plus DX3N Records, a label he keeps strictly in the family with Luke and younger brother Joss.

2026 is the year it all landed. A headline residency at Amnesia for the club's 50th anniversary, Thursdays at Metamorfosi alongside Joseph Capriati, Richie Hawtin and Ben Klock, plus Sonar, Warehouse Project and a debut at Coachella.
