With a career spanning nearly three decades, Mark Knight stands as one of the most influential figures in dance music. A Grammy nominated producer and the second highest selling artist of all time on Beatport with over ten No.1 releases, Mark has consistently shaped the global sound of electronic music.

He has released on some of the scene’s most respected labels, including BBE, Stereo, and Saved, and is the founder of Toolroom, one of the most successful dance music companies in the world, celebrating 18 years in 2021.

A true global performer, Mark has headlined major venues and festivals such as elrow, CRSSD Festival, Space Miami, Studio 338, Warehouse Project, Womb Tokyo, Exchange LA, and Amnesia Ibiza, drawing crowds in the tens of thousands. His remix credits include crossover successes for artists like Dido, Florence and the Machine, SG Lewis, and U2, further cementing his broad appeal.

Across a wide range of projects, few artists have made as deep an impact on electronic music culture. From dancefloor anthems like "Man With The Red Face," "Alright," "Downpipe", and "All 4 Love", to production work for Faithless and Underworld, Mark’s discography reflects a balance of credibility, passion, and innovation.

Mark’s musical roots lie in soul and hip hop. Raised on the radio shows of Froggy, Greg Edwards, and a young Pete Tong, he was heavily influenced by artists like BB&Q Band, Leroy Burgess, Jam & Lewis, and Ten City. Saturdays were spent digging for vinyl at Blue Bird or Trax in Soho, building the musical foundation that still fuels his creativity today.

In addition to his studio and touring work, Mark has become a prominent voice in radio. His weekly Toolroom Radio show reaches over 15 million listeners in 60 countries, and in 2021 he began hosting a Friday night show on the UK’s Kiss FM. He also holds a monthly slot on Mi-Soul Radio, taking over from the late Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson, an early mentor and inspiration.

In 2020, inspired by his deep musical heritage, Mark released one of the biggest records of his career:
"All 4 Love", a collaboration with Rene Amesz and Tasty Lopez, stayed on the BBC Radio 1 A-list for six weeks and surpassed 10 million streams on Spotify.

That same year, he released "If It’s Love" and "Tonight", celebrations of the soulful and filtered house sounds of the ’90s and early ’00s. These releases paved the way for his 2021 studio album, a tribute to the vocal-led house music that first inspired him, featuring collaborations with Beverley Knight, The London Community Gospel Choir, Shingai (Noisettes), Michael Gray, Robert Owens, and more.

Still a fixture on the global club and festival circuit, Mark continues to tour extensively, both as a solo act and under the Toolroom banner, headlining residencies and landmark events worldwide. His enduring relevance and dedication make him a true pillar of modern dance music.
