Lunar Disco has been gently percolating on the stove for quite some time now. Behind the moniker are husband-and-wife duo Australian singer-songwriter Kate Ellsworth and French DJ/producer Nicolas Blistène. Signed to labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Katermukke, Abracadabra and Kindisch, Lunar Disco continue their steady rise with their latest release “I’ll Be Waiting” on their own imprint, Suck My Disco.

This exquisite, more radio-leaning track highlights the duo’s versatility blending Kate’s unmistakable vocals with Nicolas’ gift for rich, emotive melodies. The recognition quickly followed: the original mix was once again selected by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, after the duo previously earned the coveted Essential New Tune title for their release Devil’s Hands on Crosstown Rebels.

Partners in life as well as behind the decks, Lunar Disco deliver a refreshing modern take on disco something they like to describe as a cool new version of synthwave. Genre boundaries are merely suggestions. Their sets move freely across styles, weaving their own productions together with carefully selected favourites from over two decades of digging.

The result is a hybrid live DJ show, where Kate’s vocals meet Nicolas’ cinematic soundscapes a deep, cosmic journey touched with vintage pop, disco grooves and futuristic funk energy. A house journey like nothing else.

As if that wasn’t enough, the duo also run their own party brand and music label, Suck My Disco a concept that doesn’t take itself too seriously, channeling the playful spirit of 70s–90s Playboy culture. A platform that pretends not to pretend, where they release their own originals alongside the occasional surprise remix.
